John J. Callahan

John (Johnny) Callahan passed unexpectedly On April 21, 2024, at 64 years old. He was the first son born to John and Anne (Bentley) beloved brother of the late Patricia (Prince) late Brian Callahan and late Mary Callahan. Loving Uncle to Jacqueline (Jack), Victoria (Ekram), Christina (Craig), Shannon (Michael) and Thomas (Zoe). Sadly missed by his Aunts, Uncles, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

Johnny was raised in Northeast Philadelphia and graduated Archbishop Ryan in 1977. Johnny played varsity football during his time at Ryan and often told stories of his glory days there. Johnny was an avid sports fan and enjoyed spending time watching his favorite Eagles and Phillies games.

Aside from watching sports, he enjoyed listening to Classic rock and talking about his extensive record collection. He enjoyed spending time cooking for his family and took pride in making meatballs “just like mom”. He will be sadly missed by every person who knew and loved him.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 10 AM and participate his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM, in St. Anne Church, 2328 East Lehigh Avenue, Phila.  Johnny will be laid to rest with his mother and siblings at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
