Carla M. Wise

Carla was born in Philadelphia to the late Roy and Esther Corson Wise.  She passed away at VNA-Hospice , after a courageous battle against Liver Disease.

Carla was best known as the Ice Cream Lady,  she drove a Mr. Softee Truck , in the Fishtown and Kensington neighborhoods for 25 years.    She also worked at Floor Craft at 7th and York for about 3 years.  She retired in 2011. Carla also worked at the Olde Philly Tavern for a time as a bar-back.   Carla offered a helping hand  to anyone that approached her.  She even served meals at The St. Francis Inn for a time .

She is survived by her loving son Roy ( Denise ). Her grandchildren Roy Jr. and Angela. Her sister Theresa Leissner.  She was predeceased by her siblings Richard Wise, Leonard Wise  and Judith Smith.  She will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews and many loving friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to Celebrate her Life on Saturday October 12, 2019 beginning at 11 AM, followed by her Funeral Service at 12:30 PM, in SUMMERFIELD-SILOAM UMC, TULIP AND EAST DAUPHIN STS. FISHTOWN. 19125
