John F. Hlinka

John " Butchie " passed away Tuesday, at home, surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John and Mary Bazar Hlinka.  He was a proud US Army veteran, serving in the Korean War era. He was employed in a can manufacturing company and was a roofer by trade.

He is the beloved husband of Patricia L. ( nee Hart ). Devoted father of Rita M. Kuruc ( the late Thomas ), Mary H. Donohue ( Patrick ), Michael J. Hlinka, Valerie P. Hlinka ( Thomas Neill ) and the late John. Pop Pop of Steven Kuruc, Patricia Davis, Kevin Donohue, Matthew Kuruc, Kristina Lux, Andrew Kuruc, Nicole Kuruc,  Kayla Pyle,  Michael and Robert Hlinka.  Sadly missed by his 13 great grandchildren.  Dear brother of the late Theresa Hlinka.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Service of Christian Burial, Saturday September 29, 2018, at 11 AM in the McELVARR FUNERAL HOME, 1415-17 East Susquehanna Avenue, Fishtown, where is viewing will begin at 9:30 AM.  Military Honors will be rendered following the service.
