John 'John the Good' Simon

"John the Good"  was born in Philadelphia to the late John A. and Theresa R. Denny Simon.  He passed away in  Geisinger  Community Medical Center, Scranton  after a valiant battle with cancer.

In recent years he moved to Mt. Ariel, PA.  While in Philadelphia the family was from Memphis and Cumberland Sts.  John graduated from St. Anne's School in 1960, North Catholic Class of "64 and went on to receive his BA in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University in 1972.

He is the beloved husband of Eileen F. McBride Simon, devoted father of Jonathan M. Simon ( Kim ) and Kristyn A. Simon.  Pop-pop of Samantha and Zachary. 

Dear brother of Theresa M. Dougherty ( William ), Catherine A. Simon, Joseph E. Simon ( Patricia ), Mary M. Kershaw ( Peter ), Margaret M. Dugan ( Francis ) and the late Michael and Anthony.  Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to his  Funeral Mass at 11 AM, on Thursday May 23, 2019, in St. Anne's Church, ( Upper ), where friends may gather  after 9:30 AM.

Entombment will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery Columbarium-Mausoleum.
