Jose A. Borges-Nieves Jr.

Jose Antonio “Tony” Borges Jr passed away suddenly on Sunday November 10th, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Tony was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Thomas Edison High School at the age of 16. Tony was the eldest son of Blanca Gonzalez and the late Jose Borges-Rios Sr. Tony was a loving person who cared for everyone. He loved spending time with his family and friends especially watching the Philadelphia Eagles. Tony is survived by his mother Blanca; sisters Velma, Betty, Marie; brother Edwin; children Iris (Tisha) ,Jose (Jujo), Jesus (Manny), Manuel (Manny), Dawn (Nena), Jose ( Bobby) and Edwin(Pookie);  grandchildren Jesus( little Manny), Nevaeh, EJ, Jadalynn, Elias, Isaiah, Isabelle, Alex and many nieces and nephews.   Friends and Family are invited to attend his viewing Saturday November 16th beginning at 8:30am in St. Hugh of Cluny Church 145 West Tioga Street Philadelphia, PA 19140. His funeral mass will begin at 10am. Burial to follow in Magnolia Cemetery. Flowers can be sent to St. Hugh of Cluny church.
