Philip H. Bowdren

Phil was born in Philadelphia to the late James Ignatius and Dorothy Kramer Bowdren.  He passed away very unexpectedly on Sunday February 24, 2019 at Oakwood Healthcare. 

Phil was a patrolman with the Philadelphia Police Dept.  for near 30 years. Phil graduated from Olney High and immediately started  the police academy   He served in the 14, 22, 24 and 9th districts. He also was in the Radio room for about a year.   He was a member of FOP Lodge # 5.  Phil was active in charity events, such as the " Fill the Cart " campaign, which aided needy veterans.  He spent many a day in front of the local supermarket asking for donations.   

He is the beloved husband of Marian D. O'Neill Bowdren.  Devoted father of Philip H. Bowdren ,  James P. Bowdren, Shaun M. Bowdren ( Erin )  and Timothy S. Bowdren ( Maria ).  Loving grandpop of Tyler, Declan, Liam, Kegan, Finn, Katie and Christian.  Dear brother of Barbara Detweiler ( Dave ) , Robert Bowdren ( Clancy ) and the late James Bowdren.  Sadly missed by his nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass, on Saturday March 2, 2019, at 10:30 AM, in St. Christopher's Church,  Somerton,  where his viewing will begin at 9  AM.  Further arrangements will be private.  In lieu of flowers, the family is respectfully requesting memorial contributions to Oakwood Healthcare.
