Richard J. Fullerton Sr. "Richie" passed away suddenly, after a tragic accident, on April 24, 2019. He was 51 years old. He was a devoted father to Richard J. Jr. Former spouse and lifelong friend of Kathleen. Dear brother of Jack (Roxanne), James (Dorothy "Mazy"), David (Jenny), Gregory, and Susan (Charlie). Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and his girlfriend Michelle Winning. He is predeceased by his beloved parents Jack and Jane (nee Lesher), his godparents Marie and Tom Lesher, and his nephew David.
Richie was born and raised in Kensington and enjoyed growing up in a large family. He was athletic and loved to play soccer. He was also an avid Philadelphia sports fan who loved his home teams. As an adult, he spent thirty years in Wildwood, NJ. There he worked in many pizza shops and became a master in making pizza. He was fondly known as the "Pizza King" for making the best pizza on the island. While living there he was also a risk taker and a kid and heart and was one of the first people to ever try bungee jumping when it became popular down the shore. In his downtime, he really enjoyed fishing, especially with his family. No matter what he was going through, he always tried to be there for his family, even if for only a kind word. He may be gone, but will never be forgotten.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral Thursday May 2, 2019 beginning at 11am in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 E. Cumberland Street Philadelphia PA 19125. Funeral service 1pm. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests and appreciates any donations towards his final expenses.
