Alana M. Camm (nee Vanderwende) passed away on September 13, 2022 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She is the beloved wife of Richard R. Camm Jr. Devoted mother of Taylor Camm and Miranda Camm. Loving Mom-Mom to Ethan, Zoey, Evie, and Declan. Dear sister of Russell Vanderwende Jr. Cherished aunt of Dylan and Hailey.
Alana was born on August 16, 1972 to the late Russell and Anna Marie (nee Pusicz) Vanderwende. She was a proud graduate of Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls, Class of 1990. After high school, Alana worked for over twenty years for Interphase Medical Supply and had an excellent work ethic. When she was not working, she enjoyed her time at her family home in Delaware, which was always a vacation for her. There she loved swimming and barbecuing or sitting on the deck, listening to country music while eating her "Jax" (cheese curls) and drinking her twisted tea light, in a cup over ice, and always with a straw. She loved the time there, whether it was with the whole family or just her husband and dad. She made so many memories there.
Alana will always be remembered for being a person who was outspoken. She would speak her mind, no matter where, when, or how she had to do it. She would tell you exactly what she thought and if you lied to her, she would always know the truth. She was as honest as they come and never took crap from anyone. More than anything, she was a genuinely caring and loving person who would do anything for anyone, especially her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather and celebrate her life Thursday September 22, 2022 from 5:30-7:30pm in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia PA 19125. Funeral service 7:30pm. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls or to the American Kidney Fund at the addresses below.
