Ann E. Seltner (nee Shingleton) passed away unexpectedly at home on November 17, 2021. She was born in Philadelphia to the late James and Anna May (nee Ackerman) Shingleton. Ann is the beloved wife of Robert E. "Bob". Devoted mother of Erica Seltner, Jessica Seltner (Danny Mulvenna), Kasey Baker (Ben), and Timmy "TJ" Seltner (Courtney). Loving Mom-Mom to Ryan, Joseph, Raeghan, Mileigh, Landon, Harper, Jett, Cannon, and Laney (who is due to arrive in April). Adoring great grandmother of Mason and Everly. Dear sister of the late Sandra Spratt. Sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, relatives, and her many friends.
To know Ann was to love her. If you knew her you knew that she would “hun" you, that was her signature. She would light up a room with her smile, laughter, and dancing. She was heavily adored by her family and friends and was always giving of herself to others and their needs. Ann was a fighter and she fought to the end. There was nothing she could not overcome or get through. Her strength was undefinable and her ability to live life through all that she had to overcome was truly remarkable. She always found a way to smile through the pain and keep life moving.
Ann loved nothing but being with her children, grandchildren and family. She was a homemaker for the majority of her life and a damn good one. When she was not tending to kids she would escape down to North Wildwood for a few weeks. Her love for the shore was one thing she passed on to her daughters and are some of her fondest memories. Ann also loved sitting outside with neighbors and friends. She was the true Queen of Wilt Street as she grew up and lived on the block for most of her life. If Ann was not outside talking for hours you would always find her on the phone talking away for hours on end or on Facebook. She loved interacting and talking to people late at night and she always made sure to have her coffee and cigarettes in hand. She was truly the best daughter, wife, mom, Mom-Mom, aunt, sister, cousin and friend. She will be deeply missed by many and remembered by all who knew her. She is now reunited with her dad, mom, sister, cousins and dearest friends. Lastly to know Ann, you would know that she is up there smiling, carrying on, and enjoying herself with her long islands, limoncello, mixed cheese hoagies, oldies music, and catching herself a “nice” tan.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Tuesday November 23, 2021 beginning at 9:30am in Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia PA 19125. Funeral service 11:30am. Interment Sunset Memorial Park.
