Anna May Salmons passed away unexpectedly on April 29, 2021 at the age of 70. She is the beloved daughter of the late Thomas and Anna May (née Hodge). Dear sister of Joanne Fritz (Dennis Sickels) and Thomas (El Barnes). Loving aunt of Jason Fogg (Kim), Michael Fritz (Melanie), Billy Barnes (Jayna), Danielle Barnes, and great aunt of Jase, Ryan, Brooke, Payton, Parker, Emma, Cooper, and Rayden. Sadly missed by her companion Doug Lording.
Anna May was raised in the Merritt Square neighborhood of Philadelphia. She attended St. Joan of Arc School and Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls, from which she graduated class of 1969. After graduating, she enjoyed a career in finance. Anna May loved to travel, especially by cruise ship, and was fortunate to have visited many places. She was also an avid Flyers fan and could be found cheering them on in the stadium at many of their games. Anna May will be remembered by her family as being as easy going, kind and generous person who was always thinking of others. She loved to send cards to her family and friends, just because she was thinking of them. She will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved her.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Saturday May 8, 2021 beginning at 9am in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia PA 19125. Funeral service 11am. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. We ask that all those attending services wear a mask and maintain social distancing.
