Anne/Nanny was born in Philadelphia and a lifelong resident of Fishtown. She attended St. Annes grade school and a 1956 graduate of John W Hallahan High School, where her daughters, granddaughters & Great granddaughters also followed in her footsteps.
Anne/Nanny worked at Heclyns Precision gear for 38 years. When she wasnt working she was spending time with her family. She was a tiny woman, but she was a spit fire.
After Anne/Nanny lost her husband Joe she moved into the Neumann Senior Housing complex on Palmer st in Fishtown. During her 10+ years of living there she made many friends, her apt was the gathering spot and she ran the Birthday sunshine club and the Bingo in the Community room.
Anne/Nanny was a selfless woman, if Love whether giving or receiving, wouldve kept her here she wouldve outlived us all. Her love for her family was immeasurable. She never missed a Birthday, milestone, event or holiday. She was always the first call you received on your Birthday. If you were sick she was calling you everyday checking on you. She was always so proud of her family and all that they accomplished. Her family takes great pride in saying she was a Nanny, a Great Nanny and a Great Great Nanny.
A special memory her family will always cherish and keep of her, was her singing “I love you a bushel and a peck”.
Anne/Nanny will be missed by all, especially her family.
