Anne Marie T. (Young) McCarthy

Anne Marie McCarthy (née Young), age 72, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. Born on April 15, 1954, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Anne Marie was the cherished daughter of the late Bunny and Bucky Young.

Anne Marie attended John W. Hallahan High School for Girls and later Kensington High School, where she built the foundation of her education and lifelong friendships. She carried a deep love for learning and meaningful connection with others throughout her life.  She leaves behind countless stories, unforgettable memories, and a life lived entirely in her own style

She is survived by her devoted husband, Daniel McCarthy; her beloved children, Daniel McCarthy Jr. and Nancy Comerford; her sons-in-law, Michael and Woj; her daughter-in-law, Jessica; and her ten treasured grandchildren: Aaron, Riley, Nora, Claire, John, Daniel, Lucas, Noah, Alaina, and Jonathan. She is also survived by her brother, Charles “Chuckie” Young. Anne Marie was predeceased by her dear daughter, Karen McCarthy.

Anne Marie found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved coffee with creamer, her Maverick 100 cigarettes and spending time with her family down the shore.  She was an avid reader, often lost in a good book. She cherished long phone conversations with friends and family, sharing laughter and stories that strengthened bonds across generations.

Her warmth, humor, and genuine spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Anne Marie’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, carried forward in the love and laughter she shared so freely.

May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, from 9:30 AM followed by her Service of Christian Burial at 11 AM, in McElvarr Funeral Home, 1415 -17 E. Susquehanna Avenue, Fishtown. Philadelphia, PA.
