Arlene P. (nee Peel ) passed away peacefully, on January 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Westfield Peel.
She was born and raised in Visitation Parish, attended grade school and graduated from their business school. When she married, she moved to Fishtown and raised her family there.
Arlene was an avid reader, loved gardening, Bingo and ceramics. Her favorite thing was spending time with her children, and grandchildren. One of her greatest joys was sharing her love of music with her family.
She was the wife of the late Robert J. Carter, Sr. Devoted mother of Charles (Elaine), Kathy Paczewski (the late Chester), Robert, Jr. (Bernadette), Gregory, Thomas, Michael (Barb), Patti Nilson (Larry), William (the late Janice) and Beth Keenan (Chris). Sadly missed by 3 generations of grandchildren.. Sister of the late Margaret, Joan and Maryanne.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral on Friday, January 12, 2024, beginning at 9 AM followed by her Service of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM, in the McELVARR FUNERAL HOME, 1415-17 East Susquehanna Ave, FISHTOWN. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne.
For those desiring, memorial contributions to either St. Jude Children Reseach Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children, would be appreciated.
