Brian J. Callahan

Brian J. Callahan passed away peacefully on February 2, 2020. He was 55 years old. He is the beloved son of the late John Callahan and the late Anne Bentley (nee McCann). Devoted father of Jacqueline Callahan. Loving Pop Pop of Shaelynn and Vincent. Dear brother of Patricia Prince (Thomas), John Callahan, and the late Mary Colleen Callahan. Sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

Brian was raised in the East Kensginton area of Philadelphia and attended St. Anne School. He graduated in 1979 from grade school and from Archbishop Ryan High School in 1983. He worked as a floor layer and was a proud member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters-Floor Coverers. In his free time, Brian enjoyed spending his time outdoors, fishing and camping. He was also an avid sports fan, especially football and his beloved Philadelphia Eagles. More than anything he enjoyed being with his family. He was always known as the fun uncle and then Pop Pop who loved being with the kids of the family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. 

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral Friday February 7, 2020 from 7-9pm and Saturday February 8, 2020 from 9-10am in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland St. Philadelphia PA 19125. Funeral Mass 10:30am St. Anne Church (upper)2328 E. Lehigh Ave. Philadelphia PA 19125. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
