Brian M. Smith

Brian was born in Philadelphia to the late Harry and Mary Carlin Smith.  He passed away at home surrounded by his loving family after a valiant battle with cancer. 

Brian was a devoted hard-working chase that buck family man. He was married at the age of 19 and spent 27 yrs. making memories and a family. He loved spending time with his daughters & granddaughter. He always made them laugh especially when he would dance & sing. He enjoyed playing games especially Uno with his daughter. They were his life and he made sure they were always happy. 

  He worked as a mechanic for many years and decided to open his on shop (second home) BnC Auto Repairs. He enjoyed what he did so much he never missed a day even when he was sick. 

  He never took his friends for granted most of them became his family. He knew who was there and who would always be there to watch his girls. He also enjoyed spending time with them and just talking about anything.

  He enjoyed sitting on the deck at his shore house drinking coffee and listening to music. He had a big heart when it came to his family he was always there when they needed him. He loved his nieces, nephews, in laws, brother, stepdad & cousins. You name it he enjoyed everything about family. 

  Brian loved crabbing, working on cars, selling cars, having house parties, sitting on the deck, listening to freestyle, telling stories and yard sales. 

 But the most important thing about Brian he always had a smile, and he could put a smile on your face. 

Beloved husband of Crystal (nee Palka) Devoted father of Brianna and Madison. Cherished 'Nonno" of EmmaRose, Dear brother of the late Harry, Billy and Christopher.  Sadly missed by Stan Hughes and Michael Hughes  (Roseanna).

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral on Monday September 9, 2024, beginning at 10 AM followed by his Funeral Service at 12 Noon in the McELVARR FUNERAL HOME, 1415-17 East Susquehanna Ave, Fishtown.  Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
