Carol A.Lawlor (née Jackson) passed away peacefully October 31, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Loving wife of 57 years to Richard J. Lawlor Jr. Devoted mother of Darlene “Suggie” Petroski (Michael), Richard III, John, and the late Carol DiCesare (Kevin). Loving Mom Mom of 16 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Dear sister of Mary Lou McCandless, Joseph Jackson, James Jackson, John Jackson, the late Catherine Burke, the late Joan Bryan, and sister in law of Edward Lawlor. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Carol was raised in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia,married the love of her life, and started a family of their own .She devoted her life to her family and was, in the words of her husband, “the best wife any man could have". He children described her as the most selfless, loving mother on the planet and would not trade her for any amount wealth and or social status . She was never one to give up at anything or even complain, despite experiencing significant loss in her life and her own declining health. She had immeasurable strength and was truly the matriarch of her family. She found the most joy in life by taking care of everyone without limits but did enjoy her time spent at the casino for hours upon hours with her sister Joan . She will be missed immensely by her family but they take comfort knowing she is reunited with her family members who have gone before her, especially her parents, siblings, her daughter Carol and her grandson Matthew.
