Charlene (Vodopija) Alicea

Charlene Alicea (nee Vodopija) sadly passed away on August 20, 2024 at the age of 54. She is the beloved wife of David K. Alicea. Devoted mother of Melissa Petrowski (Christopher), Erica Alicea (Sean Behrle), Sarah Alicea, and Nicholas Alicea. Loving Nan of Aaron and Ethan. Cherished daughter of the late Marian Tenner Vodopija. Dear sister of Louis  (Maureen), and the late Joseph (late Marie), Bobby (Liz), and Mark. Sadly missed by her best friends Ann Fabiani and Brian Hunt.

“There are very few people you meet in life that can embody the phrase "force of nature". Char was one of those select people, she carried herself like she was the strongest and toughest person in any room, because she was. Her voice had power whether yelling at you to "get out of the street before you get hit by a car" or softly asking how you've been and catching up in a casual conversation. You always knew where you stood with her because she had no issue telling you. Although she had a tough exterior, she had a heart of gold and fought hard for those she loved. She had a smile that would light up a room, and an energy that was unmatched.”

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Tuesday August 27, 2024 from 10-11:45am in Holy Name of Jesus Church 701 Gaul Street Philadelphia, PA 19125. Funeral mass 12pm. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and in honoring Charlene’s love of animals, the family is requesting memorial contributions to any charity that benefits animals.
