Charles "Chuck" J. Kingsmill Sr.

Charles J. Kingsmill Sr. "Chuck" passed away unexpectedly at home on October 22, 2023. He was born on August 30, 1957 to the late Harry and Marie (nee Weney). 

Chuck was raised in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia and remained there throughout his life. He attended Holy Name of Jesus School and then North Catholic High School, from which he graduated Class of 1975. Chuck later met the love of his life, Vickie, and the two raised their children in the same neighborhood where they grew up.

Chuck worked for over 40 years as an electrical technician for PECO. He loved his job and the friendships he forged with his coworkers. Chuck worked hard and always did anything he needed to do to provide for his family. In his downtime, Chuck enjoyed cooking and watching Food Network and he was an avid Philadelphia sports fans, especially the Eagles. Chuck also looked forward to playing cards with the guys.

Chuck was an all-around good guy. He kept to himself, but also enjoyed many friendships, some of which lasted for over 50 years. He was easy going and enjoyed the simple things in life, especially time spent with his family. Chuck will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. 

Chuck is the beloved husband of 44 years to Vickie (nee Beier). Devoted father of Cate (Tony Yeary), Charles J. Jr. (Katie Winkler), and Eric. Loving Poppy to Carla and Brynn. Dear brother of Donna Sullivan (late Ron), Susan Donahue, Joan, Harry (Jane), Jim (Jennifer), and the late Joseph (late Tina). Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral Friday October 27, 2023 from 8:30-10am in the McElvarr Funeral Home 1415-17 East Susquehanna Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19125 (Fishtown). Funeral Mass 10:30am in Holy Name of Jesus Church 701 Gaul Street Philadelphia, PA 19125. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Palmer Cemetery.
