Charles E. "Chas" Flanagan

August 7, 1961 ~ June 4, 2022 (age 60)

Obituary

Charles E. Flanagan aka Chas was born on August  7, 1961 and was one of eight children. As a child he was fondly referred to as the weird one. He spoke fondly of his childhood trips to the shore and as being a first mate on a fishing boat. He met his first wife Sandy in 1983 and with her he had three amazing children Chuck, Amber and Glenn. Even though distance separated him from them at times that never stopped him from speaking lovingly of them, showing that little twinkle in his eye that proud fathers have.

He married his second wife Denise in 2008. Denise has two daughters Adraine and Dana of which he never hesitated to be there for. Chas and Denise lived and enjoyed life together every second of their relationship. Whether it was living in the mountains, taking cruises, random shore trips, taking the boat out, he was very big on living life and doing what he loved.

Grandfather of five was one of his favorite titles. He wore it proudly, speaking of his grandchildren whenever he had the chance.

In 2016 the call to be there for Denise's brother came and Chas did not hesitate to answer. Together they took in her brother Joe's four grandchildren, Joey, Molly, Lucy and William, later adopting them in 2019.

Chas can best be remembered as husband, father, and grandfather. For his hard work ethic, whether if be as a delivery man, handy man, or friend helping a friend, or just tinkering around the house. A man who loved to laugh, fish, have a few beers, and just have an all around good time. His love for sports was very apparent by his wardrobe, and by being in earshot of the radio or eyeshot of the tv. But the biggest thing he can be remembered for was his heart. He wore it on his sleeve. He loved hard and because of that he hurt harder. He would do anything for anyone and always hoped to get the same in return. He had the heart of a big kid inside of a 60 yr. old mans body. And that above all is what he should be remembered for. May he rest in peace.

Chas is the beloved husband of Denise McKenna Flanagan.  Devoted father of Charles E. Flanagan Jr. " Chuck ", Amber Hansen ( Ken ), Glenn Flanagan ( Danica ), Adraine Stepnowski ( Joseph ), Dana Vollmer ( Ian ), Joseph McKenna, Molly Jo McKenna, Lucille McKenna and William McKenna. Loving pop pop of Kendra Hansen, Shane Flanagan, Kiera Hansen, Joseph and Gabe Stepnowski. Dear Brother of Patrick Flanagan, Thomas Flangan Jr. ( Eileen ), Dennis Flanagan, Catherine Malinowski ( Stephen ), Danny Flanagan ( the late Marilyn ), Theresa Baranowski  ( Henry ) and the late James Patrick Flanagan.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
