Charles "Sonny" W. Moyer

Charles W. Moyer "Sonny" went home to be with the Lord on April 13, 2026 at the age of 80. He was born in Philadelphia to the late Charles M. and Gertrude (nee Adams) Moyer.

Sonny proudly served his country in the United States Navy and carried a deep sense of patriotism throughout his life. He was truly proud to be an American. An avid outdoorsman, Sonny found joy in hunting and riding his motorcycle, embracing the freedom and adventure both brought him. Above all, he cherished his family. He took great pride in spoiling his grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with love, laughter, and warmth that they will carry with them forever.

Charles is survived by his wife Dianne (nee Pendowski) with whom he shared his life for 46 years; his son Charles Edward Moyer and his children Amber, Charles, Shaun, and Paige; his son Charles Anthony Moyer and his children Hayley and Oliver; his son Eric Moyer and his children Brittany, Chloe, and Kaydan (Grace); his daughter Joycie Young, her husband Joe, and their children Aaron, Alex, Keith (April), Allijiah, and Samuel; his daughter Melissa Moyer and her children Caprice, Marquell (Hannah), and Chase; his daughter Jessica Kluska, her husband Jim, and their children Paul, Preston (Hailey), and Allyah; his daughter Rachael Flite, her husband Jim, and their children James and Robert; 16 great grandchildren; his sisters Alice Fagan and Charlene Brewer; his many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Sonny is preceded in death by his sister Sally Ann Costello, and his brother Percy Moyer. 

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral Friday April 17, 2026 beginning at 9:30am in Bethel Baptist Church 2080 Castor Avenue Philadelphia, PA 19134, followed by his funeral service at 11am. Interment Forest Hills Cemetery.
