Craig "Chip" Anton Jr. Obituary

Craig F. Anton Jr. "Chip", age 51, passed away on March 18, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with health issues. He was born in Philadelphia and lived a large part of his life in South Jersey and at the Jersey Shore.

Chip was an easygoing and happy person who always looked on the bright side of life. Even through struggles and limitations, he never allowed them to make him bitter, meeting life instead with humor, resilience, and a lighthearted spirit. He had a wonderful sense of humor, could turn almost anything into a song, and brought laughter to those around him. Chip deeply loved his family, especially his grandchildren, who knew him as a fun and loving Pop. He was also a loyal friend and, above all, a best friend to his wife, Sandy.

Chip had a lifelong love of cooking, something that began in childhood while watching his mother in the kitchen. He often called her for recipes and advice, making cooking not only a passion but also a special way for them to stay connected. He enjoyed sports and was an avid fan of Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia Phillies, and Philadelphia 76ers, and he also loved watching WWE, which gave him something to banter about with his sister. He found peace and happiness in fishing and treasured time spent at the beach.

Chip is the beloved husband of Sandy Kilian. Cherished son of Luanne and Jon Usinger and the late Craig F. Anton Sr. Devoted stepfather of Robert "Bud" (Michelle), Kevin (Taylor), the late Anthony and Pop to Victor, Mackenzie, Mason, Penelope, Anthony, and Evie. Dear brother of Heather Anton. Sadly missed by his extended family. The family is filled with sorrow but they take comfort that he is being reunited with his dad in heaven.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his life Wednesday March 25, 2026 beginning at 6pm in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia, PA 19125, followed by his funeral service at 7pm.
