Dale (Campbell) Gallagher

Dale Gallagher (nee Campbell) passed away peacefully, in the comfort of her home, on February 8, 2026. She was surrounded by the love of her family as they were by her side, just as she was for them throughout her life. Dale was born on January 8, 1947 to the late Benjamin and Edna (nee Andrews) Campbell and was a lifelong resident of the Fishtown section of the city. 

Dale was one of the most loving women you could ever know, giving all of herself to her family. To know her was truly to love her—whether you were her closest family members, in-laws, friends, or coworkers. She always aimed to please everyone and found joy in making others happy.

Dale loved to shop… almost as much as she loved receiving presents. Even if she was upset, the smallest gift could make her light up instantly. That was just who she was—warm, forgiving, and full of heart.

She had a remarkable way of making the best out of every situation and every struggle life placed in her path. Dale loved music and found comfort and happiness in singing her oldies, a joy she carried with her until her final moments, surrounded by those she loved most.

Dale is the beloved wife of the late Joseph T. Gallagher Sr. Devoted mother of Joseph T. Gallagher Jr. (Beth), Ree Whartnaby (Jimbo), Carolann Marinucci (Don), Patrick Gallagher (Rose), and John Gallagher (Michelle). Loving Mom-Mom to Joey (Ideleen), Sean, Danny (Jennie), Jimmy (Katy), Madison (Dan), John James (Trish), Taylor, Michael, Anthony, Fiona, Catherine, Brady, Aidan, Lauren. Adoring Gigi of John James, Joey, Shay, Jaxon, Scarlett, Hannah, Gabby, and Liam. Dear sister of Carol Gallagher (Thomas), Barbara Morales, and the late Sissy, Harry, Frankie, Arlene, and Flossie. Sadly missed by her Gallagher in-laws and her many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Saturday February 14, 2026 from 9:45-10:45am in Holy Name of Jesus Church 701 Gaul Street Philadelphia, PA 19125 (Fishtown) followed by her funeral mass at 11am. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery, where Dale will be laid to rest with her one true love on Valentine's Day.
