Daniel Eric Bowman was born on January 5, 1996. He passed away unexpectedly January 4, 2024.
Beloved Son of M. J. and Rita (nee McCorkle) Bowman. Brother to David, Michelle and Catherine. Grandson to Linda Verschelde. Loved by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Daniel was a high academic achiever, a member of Chess club, athlete in track and wrestling, an avid hiker, and a nature lover. He hiked all over Pennsylvania, enjoyed many trips to the Philadelphia Zoo and other places where he could spend time in nature. He made identifying wild flora one of his hobbies. Semiprecious gem stones were another of his hobbies and he made jewelry for friends and family.
Daniel was interested in electronics, which he combined with woodworking, and first modified, then built his own guitars. He liked carpentry and woodworking. He'd spend a lot of his time making wooden crafts like Snoopy and Woodstock that he would give to his friends. He also made and sold wooden furniture. He was very loyal and generous with his family and friends.
Daniel studied Chemistry in college. He loved all kinds of music and he played guitar and bass for a while when he was in a band and with his friends. He was a dedicated altar server and worked at Ascension of Our Lord Church until its closing. Most recently he made the goal of hiking the Appalachian trail in its entirety and was preparing to do it this spring.
His memorial service will be held February 3, 2024 from 11:00am-1:00pm in the McBride/McElvarr Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia, PA 19125.
