Obituary

In the late evening hours of Friday April 2ND, 2021, our beloved David Edward Baker passed away suddenly at the age of 57.

Dave was born Jan 27Th, 1964 in Philadelphia, PA to Mitch and Hilde (Kummerling) Baker. David attended elementary school at St. Cecelia's in Fox Chase and graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School in 1982. On Oct 3rd, 1982 he married Vicky (Dorosz) Baker. They raised two daughters together, Erica and Tina.

Dave enjoyed the outdoors. He would take walks in his back yard (Lormier Park) or would be working on an outdoor project every chance he would get. He enjoyed spending time at his hunting cabin, The Kitchen Creek Rod and Gun Club. He spent many years "trying" to get that one buck. He finally did and that was the "lucky" shot. Dave also enjoyed listening to good music like Led Zeppelin and Lynyrd Skynyrd, fixing model trains, watching Star Trek and Tucker Carlson on Fox News each night, and was an advent fan of his Philadelphia Sports Teams. His dream was made on Feb 4Th, 2018 when the Philadelphia Eagles beat Tom Brady and the NE Patriots 41-33! He attended the parade with his wife, daughters, and all 6 grandsons.

Dave's purest joys were his two daughters. Dave was an assistant coach for the girls in baseball when they were younger and was that parent who never missed a game or a Voloshky Dance performance when the girls were older. Dave was that father who would be at your house within the hour when they needed him. The girls looked to their daddy has their HERO and their daddy doted on his girls!

Dave's heart, however, belonged to his six grandsons, Willum, Oscar, Joey, Max, Jaxson, and Jason. If the "World's Greatest Pop -Pop" was an actual award, he would would have won it every year! Dave dedicated all of his free time to his grand-boys. Whether it was traveling at 4am in the morning to get one to a hockey game or leaving work early to pick them up for their weekly sleepover, Pop-Pop was there! The boys were Dave's Pride and Joy and he was their Idol!

Dave will be forever remembered by his wife and best-friend Vicky, their loving daughters, Erica(Wil) and Tina, his parents Mitch and Hilde, his brother Mitchy(Erin), his grandsons Willum, Oscar, Joey, Max, Jaxson, and Jason, his In-Laws Stefan(Mary), Paul(Nadia), Annie(George), along with multiple nephews and nieces, other family members and close friends.
