David "Davey" Grabfelder Obituary
David J. Grabfelder "Davey" passed away unexpectedly on October 6, 2022 at the age of 66. He is the beloved son of the late George and Dorothy (nee Kirby) Grabfelder. Dear brother of Diane Farley (late Edmond), Robert Grabfelder, and the late Dorothy Heary (Michael), Richard "Gitch" Grabfelder, James Grabfelder, and George Grabfelder. Loving godfather to Robert and Amy Grabfelder. Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Davey was born and raised in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia and remained there throughout his life. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. After, he worked for years as a hardwood flooring installer and was very good at his job. Davey was a staple in the neighborhood and could be easily recognized for always wearing his American flag bandana on his head. He enjoyed visiting JR's saloon in the mornings to have his coffee, read the paper and do his crossword puzzles, and socialize with the other patrons. He will be missed greatly by his family and they take comfort that he is being reunited by so many of his family members who have gone before him.
Relatives and friends are invited to his committal services with military honors Thursday October 20, 2022 promptly at 2pm in Washington Crossing National Cemetery 830 Highland Ave. Newtown, PA 18940. Please arrive 15 mins prior to the service and gather at the area designated for funeral processions.
