Dolores Jacqualine Hayney, 83, of Wildwood, NJ and formerly of Treasure Island, FL and Fairview and Parkside, Camden, NJ passed away on January 19, 2026. Wife of the late Michael Hayney for 54 years and mother of the late Patrick Hayney, Dolores is survived by her son Francis (Brittany) and lifelong friends and honorary sons Mario Olsen (Nicole) and David Miller (Lisa).
Dolores attended Hatch Junior High and graduated from Camden High School in 1960.
Dolores was the third child of the late Stephen and Frances (Widziszewski) Wawrzyniak and sister of the late Frederick Wawrzyniak (Anna), Daniel Wawrzyniak (Brenda), and the late Cynthia Sonntag (James Tarlton)
Dolores is also survived by nieces Debra Velez (Joseph), Dawn DiMiero (James), Denise Schneider (Craig), Melissa Tarlton, and Melanie Fraser (William) and nephews Daniel Wawrzyniak Jr. (Melinda), Jerome Wawrzyniak, and Michael Wawrzyniak (Heather).
In her life at various times Dolores was a majorette, a member of the drum and bugle corps, a bowler, and a performer in the Tarantella Dancers Italian dance troupe. Dolores organized Fairview youth dances, basketball leagues, fun runs, and the Lady’s Auxiliary of Fairview Little League – even stepping in to coach her son’s baseball team.
A member of the of the Fairview Historical Society she fought against the cutting down of trees, widening of the roads, and the nearby construction of the trash to steam plant.
At multiple times in her life Dolores worked in stock market administration in both Camden and Philadelphia. She was a salesperson for K&Z Pickles and known affectionately to the neighborhood kids as the “pickle lady”. She formed her own gift basket business: Dolores’ Delights.
She took refunding and coupon clipping to a higher level. This aided her interest in cooking and “gourmet” recipes. Dolores was a lifelong avid reader and enjoyed quilting and arts and crafts.
Memorial services will be private.
