Dolores “Lori” L. (Hassey) Puro

Dolores L. Puro “Lori” (née Hassey) passed away peacefully on December 15, 2021 with her family by her side. She is the beloved wife of the late Kenneth Puro. Devoted mother of Joseph Brett (Rochelle), Vincent Brett (Kimberly), John O’Boyle (Alison), and Kevin O’Boyle (Lisa). Loving Grandmom of Jessica, Sarah, Taylor, Joseph, Kimberly (John), Vincent (Sam), Miranda (Charlie), Cierrah (Brent), Jarrett, Victorria, Abigail, Jillian, LJ, Kevin, Gavin, Gianna, Michael, the late Rachel, and great grandmother of Landon, Addy, Jax, and Ellie. Dear sister of Margie Maines, Catherine “Sis” Erazmus (late Rich), Lillian Wilderman (Ron), Marion Hassey, and the late Patricia Sullick (late Charles) and Elwood Hassey (Anita). Sadly missed by her nieces and nephews.

Lori was born in Philadelphia to the late Elwood and Margaret (née Givens) Hassey. She was raised in  Fishtown and remained there to raise her own children. She loved the simple things in life like cooking, oldies music (especially Elvis), and a cold beer with a glass of ice. She also enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and slot machines at the casino. Her greatest joy came from time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. 

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Wednesday December 22, 2021 beginning at 10am in the McElvarr Funeral Home 1415-17 East Susquehanna Ave. Philadelphia PA 19125 (Fishtown), followed by her funeral service at 11:30am.
