Donald "Don" Grauber Jr. passed away peacefully on March 31, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and close friends. Born on November 7, 1958, Don was a lifelong resident of the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia, where he cultivated deep roots and lasting relationships.
Don is survived by his wife, Patty, and his six children: Cyndi (Costa), Donnie (Andrea), Charles (Krystal), Jason (Kara), Bryant (Sherri), and Joey (Savannah). His life was further enriched by countless grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, whose names are too numerous to list, yet whose love and laughter filled his days.
He will be remembered by his siblings: Annamarie, Bernadette, Paul (Sharlene), and Ruth (Glenn), as well as his close friend Kenny and many other close friends.
Don is preceded in death by his father, Don Sr.; his mother, Joanne; his sister, Gina; his brother, Tony; and many close friends whose companionship he treasured deeply.
A skilled and dedicated auto mechanic, Don spent many years working in the Kensington area, earning the respect and gratitude of countless customers and colleagues. Outside of work, he was an animal lover with a particular fondness for dogs and cats. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, like fishing and feeding ducks—pastimes that brought him peace and happiness.
Don's resilience in the face of adversity was remarkable. He bravely fought through cancer treatment with tenacity and courage, leaving an indelible mark on the medical community. His strength and determination will continue to be remembered and studied by the doctors and caregivers who walked beside him on his journey.
Don's kindness, humor, and unwavering love for his family and friends will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched, and his legacy of love and perseverance will continue to inspire future generations.
May he rest in eternal peace.
Relatives and friends are invited to Gather and Remember Don on Wednesday April 9, 2025, beginning at 9 AM followed by his Funeral Mass at 10;30 AM in St. Anne's Church.2328 East Lehigh Ave.
