Dorothy Marie Gormisky

Dot was born in Philadelphia to late John and Violet Clark Gruber. She sadly passed away on November 15 ,2021 at Jefferson Frankford Hospital, on the day of her son's funeral. 

Dot was a hard worker spending many years as a knitter at the Robert Bruce Sweater Co. She was a  very devoted mother figure to her son and grandson, who lost his mother at a young age.  She showed the true meaning of what a mother's love should look like. Dot loved her Elvis Presley, and doing her penny puzzles. Dot adored doing puzzles and crafts with her four great grandchildren.
Dot will always be remembered for her heart of gold and her devotion as a mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all and never forgotten by all who knew her.

She was the widow of the late Joseph. Devoted mother of the late Joseph Jr. (late Joan). In addition to her Grandson, Joseph Gormisky III and his wife Melissa, she will be the sadly missed  Mom-Mom to her great grandchildren Arionna, Emily, Isabella and Mackenzie.  She is the dear sister of John H. Gruber Jr. ( Agnes ), Raymond Gruber ( Kathy ) , Ronald Gruber ( Donna ) and the late Robert Gruber.  Also survived by her nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral on Monday November 22, 2021 beginning at 10:30 AM, in The McELVARR FUNERAL HOME, 1415-17 East Susquehanna Avenue, Fishtown.  Her Service of Christian Burial will be at 12 Noon.  Dot will be laid to rest with her two Joe's. Her beloved husband and her loving son at Magnolia Cemetery.
