Edward J. Parsons passed away at home on December 4, 2023 with his loving family by his side. He was born on October 20, 1948 to the late Edward and Julia Parsons.
Edward was a lifelong Fishtown resident. He worked until his retirement as a Stevedore/Longshoreman at various ports along the Delaware River. Eddie was a simple guy who enjoyed his time at home , watching movies, especially Westerns featuring James Cagney, and listening to his Bob Seger music. Eddie was not a huge sports fan but did like hockey and was an avid Philadelphia Flyers fan. It did not take much to make Eddie happy….he loved his car and a good pizza from Taconellis, and of course his family.
Eddie was a no nonsense guy and his famous last words were always….”Not Today and Not Right Now!" He will be missed and forever loved but his family takes comfort that he is being reunited in heaven with his loved ones who have gone before him.
Edward is the dear brother of Butch (Sissy), Dolly Crisdeo (Larry), Diane Layton (late Bob), Debbie Parsons, Donna Parsons, and the late Maryanne Dugan (late Michael), and the late Joanne Cram (late Mickey). Sadly missed by his loving nephew Gregory Parsons (Kiersten) and his many nieces and nephews. The family is very grateful to his wonderful caretakers Shirley Hartman, Jessica Ortiz, Robert Sinick, Jose Dones and Donna Johnston.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral Friday December 8, 2023 beginning at 9:30am in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 E. Cumberland Street Philadelphia, PA 19125. Funeral service 11am. Interment Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
