Edward T. Smith Sr.

Edward T. Smith Sr. passed away peacefully on January 13, 2025 at the age of 77. He was born on January 25, 1947 to the late Joseph and Florence (nee Early). 

Edward was raised in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia and graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School. After marrying his wife Mossie, he moved to East Kensington and raised his children there while working as an appliance repairman. He later worked for Camiel's beer distributor, a job he enjoyed very much. Ed had a great love of music, especially Oldies, and shared this with his own children. He knew the history and lyrics, and was also blessed with a great singing voice. 

Edward is the beloved husband of the late Martha "Mossie" (nee Kull). Devoted father of Rosie, Edward (Julie), Michele Shahaj (Harry Hart), Nicole Flaherty (Keith), and the late Kimberly. Loving Pop-Pop of Eddie, Anthony, Shannon, Cynthia, Sherif, Samantha, Kimberly, Keith, Timmy, Alyssa, Aaron, Kylie, Michael, Michele, Shane, Rosie, Gage, the late Tiffany and his many great grandchildren. Dear brother of the late Joseph, Richard, and Marie Frattaroli (Ray). 

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral Friday January 17, 2025 beginning at 9am in St. Anne Church (lower) 2328 East Lehigh Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19125 followed by his funeral mass at 10:30am. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
