Eliazbeth "Bettyanne" Murawski
Lovingly known as Bettyanne, Mom and most proudly Nan and Nanny, passed away unexpectedly on January 1, 2026, while ringing in the New Year. She was 72. Born on August 16,1953, in Philadelphia to the late William O'Neill and Evelyn Diamond O'Neill. Born and raised in Fishtown, she carried her Irish pride with her everyday of her life. Small, but fierce, she was 100 % Irish at heart and never missed a chance to celebrate her heritage, her family and the simple joys of life.
She worked for many years as a dispatcher for ADT Alarms, retiring in 2015 after a dedicated career. Hardworking, honest and dependable she gave her all in everything she did-especially when it came to caring for others. A devoted mother and grandmother, her children and grandchildren were her greatest blessing and her top priority. Family meant everything to her. She was a beautiful strong and selfless woman who spent her life taking care of those she loved, a trait that began in childhood and never faded. Bettyanne loved sports, especially cheering on the Philadelphia Flyers and Eagles. She enjoyed thrifting, decorating, playing the lottery and feeding her family, making sure no one left her home hungry. She had the best laugh and smile, the kind that could cure anything and her blunt honesty was matched only by her big heart.
She loved being Irish and lived with pride in who she was and where she came from. Her laughter, strength and love will forever echo in the hearts of all who knew her.
Beloved wife of the late Joseph, she is survived by her children Joseph J. Murawski (Caroline), Timothy Murawski, Michael P.Murawski (Jennifer), Desiree Murawski and Sarah Murawski (Joseph). She is sadly missed by 2 generations of grandchildren her brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
The family has requested that services will be private.
