Ellen Berger Etter

Ellen E. Etter of Philadelphia, PA, passed away suddenly at her home on July 31th, 2024. She is survived by her devoted husband, Gerald Etter; her daughter, Marla Sheri Etter-Levins (Robert Levins); her grandchildren, Erica Levins-Fabry (Luke Fabry) and Nolan Levins; as well as her sister, Marilyn Henry; niece, Nancy Srb (Greg Srb); and great-nieces Cassandra Srb, Arianna Srb, and Shannon Tuckfield.

Ellen, affectionately known as "Ms. Etter" throughout the community, was not only a beloved wife, mother, aunt, and grandmother but also a treasured friend, colleague, and educator. She was a passionate advocate for many, always going out of her way to support those less fortunate by offering education, clothing, and life-changing experiences. Walking through the city with Ellen was like being with a celebrity, as she was frequently stopped by community members, especially the children she worked with at Greenfield Elementary, who were eager to greet her and express their joy in seeing her.

Ellen will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the entire community. A celebration of her life will be held on August 24th, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home, located at 2357 E Cumberland St, Philadelphia, PA 19125. In lieu of flowers, contributions to 'Philabundance' would be appreciated.
