Eva Bennett Obituary

Eva Mae Bennett went home to her Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, December 12th after a four-year battle with ovarian cancer.  She was 68.

Raised in Bristol, Bucks County, Eva lived most of her adult years in Upper Darby.  She was a graduate of Presbyterian Nursing School and Philadelphia College of Bible (now Cairn University).  She worked throughout her life as a nurse, including time at Presbyterian Hospital, the Emergency Department of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and the last years of her career vaccinating the homeless for the city of Philadelphia.

Eva loved photography, animals, reading, eating out, and going to the shore- especially Cape May, NJ.  She was a member of Tenth Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir and served as a greeter.  Though she was pre-deceased by the only members of her immediate family, her parents Charles and Nina May Cavener Bennett, Eva leaves a large group of devoted friends, some of whom she counted as family.  She will be especially missed by her “nieces and nephews” Emilie and Samuel Park, Bonnie and Ben Hoffmann, Jeremy and Esther Carter, Philip Carter, Ben Carter, and Leah Carter.

Interment will be private.  Contributions in Eva’s memory may be directed to either Harvest USA or the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).
