Frances "Franny" (O'Neill) Borman

Frances Borman "Franny" (nee O'Neill) passed away on September 15, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Cherished daughter of the late Edward O'Neill and the late Marie Bachmann O'Neill. Beloved wife of the late George Borman. Devoted mother of Bruce Mann, Frances "Annie" Ryley (Bob), Ginny Rispo (Jim), Dawn Bradley (Bill), Peter Klassis (Catherine "Bunny"), and the late Eugene Mann "Dinky". Loving grandmother of Joshua, Matthew, Kerri, Anthony, Lauren, Christian, Gabby, Brandon, Frances, Robert, Lily, Margaret, Jonathan, Michael, Shawn, Peter, Leland, and Kaven.  Dear sister of Marie Litnak (late George) and the late Edward O'Neill (Ruthann). Sadly missed by her great grandchildren, 2 godchildren, and her nieces and nephews. 

Franny was born and raised in Philadelphia and settled in the Fishtown area. After high school she attended trade school to become a chef.  She did not work in a restaurant, but instead she used this talent to cook delicious food for her family. Breakfast, soups, and seafood salad were her specialties and even when her kids left home, they would always stop for platters at Mom's house. Franny was a natural caregiver and she loved to make everyone feel special, especially during birthdays when she would make homemade cards with beautiful sayings and hand drawn pictures.  She loved to sing, especially music from Elvis and Dolly Parton, gamble at the casinos, and ride around greeting her neighbors in her famous white van. She will be missed tremendously but her family takes comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her loved ones in heaven.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Friday September 18, 2020 from 9am-10:30am in the McElvarr Funeral Home 1415-17 East Susquehanna Avenue Philadelphia, PA 19125 (Fishtown). Funeral Mass 11am Holy Name Church.  

We ask that all those attending services wear a mask, maintain social distancing, and adhere to guidelines established by the church to keep everyone safe during Covid-19.
