Garrett "Gary" Miller Sr. Obituary

In Loving Memory

Garrett “Gary” J. Miller, Sr.

December 7, 1948 – February 7, 2023

Garrett “Gary” J. Miller, Sr. went home to be with the Lord on February 7, 2023 at the age of 74.  He is the beloved husband of 52 years to Della M. (nee Hicks). Devoted father to Dawn Marie (John), Garrett Jr. (Rebecca), and Robert Max (Kristin).  Loving Pop to Garrett III, Haley, Autumn, Aidan, Jordan, Connor, Kiley, and Benjamin.  Cherished son of the late Max and Catherine (nee Carson) Miller.  Dear brother-in-law and uncle.  Sadly missed by family and friends.

Gary attended North Catholic High School.  He served honorably in the United States Marine Corps receiving multiple awards including the Presidential Unit Citation and Purple Heart Medal.  Gary was an electrician and spent a 38-year career at Anzon.  He was generous and always looked out for everyone.  He was an excellent provider and always took care of his family.

Gary enjoyed sports, especially the Eagles.  He liked to fish, shoot pool and darts, and was a good pinochle card player.  More than anything he enjoyed being with his family.   He was well liked by all those who knew him and will be greatly missed by all.

God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be; so he put his arms around you, and whispered, “Come to me.”  With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away.  Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.  A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands to rest.  God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Gary's life on Saturday February 18, 2023, beginning at 9:00am in St. Anne’s Church (Upper) and to his Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 AM.
