Genevieve “Gen” (Sproul) Stinson

Genevieve Stinson “Gen” passed away peacefully at home on November 14, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She is the beloved wife of the late William. Devoted mother of Bill Stinson and Diane Stinson (Larry). Dear sister of the late Frances Costa, James Sproul, Viola Brennan, Beatrice Sproul, Jack Sproul, Ellen Dolan, and Elizabeth End.  Sadly missed by her nieces and nephews, especially John Costa, Ellen Harbinson, Gerrie Christ, and numerous great and great great nieces and nephews. She is also adored by her adopted daughters Diane Sauchak, Kimberly Roach, Patsy Rooney, granddaughters Jennifer, Brittany, Samantha, and great granddaughter Olivia Marie. 

Gen was born and raised in St. Anne parish and remained there after marrying to raise her own family. She worked hard while taking care of her children. Gen always took pride in her home and block and was always cleaning and sweeping up outside. If there was ever anyone who needed help in anyway, she would be there to help in anyway she could. Gen’s favorite time of year was Halloween and Christmas. She would always dress up for Halloween and enjoyed making costumes for herself and others. She also loved to decorate for Christmas and her family would say that if you stood in her home for long enough, she would decorate you. She will always be remembered as being a “badass” in all the right ways and she will be deeply missed. 
 

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral mass Saturday November 28, 2020 at 10am in St. Anne Church (lower)2328 East Lehigh Ave. Philadelphia PA 19125. The family will be at the church at 9:30am to greet guests. In lieu of flowers, Mass cards are appreciated. 
We ask that all those attending wear a mask and maintain social distancing. We also ask that everyone adhere to seating arrangements put in place by the church to keep everyone safe during the pandemic.
