George J. Eib Jr.

George J. Eib Jr. passed away suddenly on July 3, 2024 at the age of 83. He was born on January 9, 1941 to the late George J. Sr. and Edith Eib. 

George was a permanent fixture on East Lehigh Avenue, outside the home where he lived for his entire life. He was a long time member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church and a math teacher at Girl's High for over 40 years. George was an eccentric man and was highly intelligent.  If you were blessed to have known him or even crossed paths with him and had a conversation, you knew that he had a wealth of knowledge about any topic. He was also a collector of many things, one being his beloved train set. George was an extremely generous person who gave much of anything he had, whether it be money or material things, to those in need. He will sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him, especially his cousin Patty Wolf and her family. 

Relatives, friends, and neighbors are invited to gather and celebrate his life on Saturday October 5, 2024 beginning at 11am in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia, PA 19125 followed by his funeral service at 11:45am.
