George D. Fleetwood passed away September 14,2023 after a short hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by his immediate loving family and passed peacefully. George was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Emelie Fleetwood (nee Neuner) and the late John R. Fleetwood. George is the beloved Husband of Patricia nee O’Neill for over 43 years. George is the Loving Father of Colleen (Jay Colella) and George Fleetwood Jr. (Heidi nee Weigel), George loves his Grandchildren with all of his heart; Twins, Amelia (Millie) & Paige, Kayla, & George W, who is in the US Army serving with 2-228th Theater fixed wing battalion currently deployed to Kuwait. Heidi’s girls, Rebecca, Kayla Lynn (Daisy & Jack), Leann (Olivia, Penelope, Nicholas, and Parker), Gabrielle (Kastiel), will also miss George dearly.
George Loved to go camping at Birchview Farm Campground and would help anyone that needed it, building decks & winterizing their campers. He also loved going fishing in the Outer Banks with the WALRUS fishing team. George retired from Iron Workers Local 401 after 44 years of dedication. George loved to tell stories of his years as an Iron worker and taking pictures standing on the top parapet of the Comcast building. George Met Pat at the Palmer Club and his part time work as a bartender at Heney & Eddies. The apple of George’s eye was his daughter Colleen that he told stories of sitting her on his shoulders and walking around at the shore, introducing her to the finest establishments in Cape May. George helped raise Millie & Paige watching them 3 days a week from birth to 8 weeks before his untimely passing from this world. The girls helped take care of him during his recent illness, learning more about how to care for the sick than most adults. George Loved his Irish Whiskey and “taking people to his office”. Anyone who knew George loved him and being around him. We will all miss You, George, Dad & Pop!
