Gertrude (Hertensteiner) Taylor

Gertrude Taylor (nee Hertensteiner) passed away peacefully on January 13, 2024, at the age of 94. She is the beloved wife of the late Edward. Devoted mother of Edward (late Donna), David (Kathy), Karen Shelton (late James), Mark (Debbie), and the late Joseph (Sherry) and Robert (Carmen). Loving grandmother to her 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. Dear sister of Sherri, Esther, Anne, and the late Rose, Carl, Emil, and Robert. Cherished friend to her "Golden Girls", the late Dolores Smutnik and Floss Fagan. 

Gertude was born and raised in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia and was a proud lifelong Fishtowner. She worked for over twenty years for Charles Jacquin et Cie, Inc until her retirement. Gertude loved to dance and listen to music, especially Frank Sinatra. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather and celebrate her life Saturday, February 24, 2024 beginning at 9:30am in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia, PA 19125 followed by her funeral service 11am.
