Gladys M. (Newberger) Johnson

Gladys M. Johnson (nee Newberger) passed away peacefully on August 25, 2020 surrounded by her family. She is the beloved wife of the late Robert. Devoted mother of Linda Whitaker (Joe) and Patricia Rojas (Chal). Loving grandmother of Amber, Joseph, Robyn (John), Jason, Charles (Bradee), Anthony (Renee), and great grandmother to her 15 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Margaret, Joan, Edward, and Carol (Robert). Predeceased by 7 brothers and sisters. Sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews.  Gladys will always be remembered for her devotion to her family and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a "favorite" aunt to many. She loved to cook and entertain and her home was always a gathering place for family and friends. She enjoyed games shows, puzzle books, slot machines, and her woman's club, the Pennsylvania Doves, of which she was a founding member. Gladys was also a proud lifetime member of St. Anne Church. She will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved her.  Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial gathering Monday August 31, 2020 beginning at 9:30am in St. Anne Church (lower) 2328 E. Lehigh Ave. Philadelphia PA 19125. Funeral Mass 10:30am.
