Harry Charles Lampart, age 104, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by family on December 30, 2021. Harry was born in Philadelphia, August 24,1917 to the late William and Florence (Doerr) Lampart. A lifelong Philadelphian, he was born in Harrowgate then raised his family in Fishtown. Harry proudly enlisted in the Army and served during World War II with the Army Air Force. This was the first initial years of the Air Force before it became a separate military service. In 2017, he was awarded his honorary high school diploma from Roman Catholic High School and North Catholic High School. Harry was a hard working man and worked various jobs, ultimately retiring as a truck driver in his 70’s. He was a patron of the Holy Name of Jesus Church for 75 years. He was the loving husband of Mary (O’Neill) for 55 years before her passing in 1997, and a devoted father of three children; Mary Ann McIntosh (Gordon), Harry Lampart (Anna May), Rita Brown (Hubert). He was a proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. In his later years of life he always loved catching up with his buddies at the neighborhood McDonald’s at Castor Avenue and Aramingo Avenue. His favorite activities included spending time, telling stories, and hearing his little grandchildren laugh.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral on Friday January 7, 2022 beginning at 9 AM, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 AM. in St. Katherine of Siena Church, 9700 Frankford Avenue.. Harry will interred with his beloved Mary in Washington Crossing National Cemetery at a later date.
