Henry J. Morris Jr. "Henny" passed away peacefully at home on October 27, 2024 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Philadelphia on August 26, 1976.
Henry was raised in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia and was a true Fishtowner. He loved everything about his neighborhood, especially the people, many of whom he called lifelong friends. He played soccer for the Cosmos, a team who stayed together from childhood through their high school years at Roman Catholic. Henny considered his teammates to be like brothers and his coach, his Uncle Pat, was his hero. Together they enjoyed many wonderful memories.
A generous soul, Henny always supported any cause, whether it benefitted a family member, friend or neighbor. He was a proud member of the AOH 87 and AOH 51 and was devoted to the Young Men's group at Atonement. Henry will be sadly missed by all those who loved him but he will always be in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Henry is the devoted father of his only son Henry J. Morris III (Johanna) and the proud new grandfather to Nora Loo. Cherished son of Mary Cain Morris. Dear brother of Jill M. Morris (Robert Orange). Loving nephew of the late Patrick Cain (Dorothy), his second dad, and cousin of Patrick Cain (Colleen), Ryan Cain, and Mary Davis (Jason), all who considered Henny to be their "brother". Henry is also survived by his father, Henry J. Morris Sr. He will be sadly missed by his godson Sebastian Hyatt and his mom, Megan Dowling; his furbaby Poe; and his many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral Saturday November 9, 2024 from 9-10:45am in St. Anne Church 2328 East Lehigh Ave. (at Memphis) followed by his funeral mass at 11am. Interment will take place at a later date in Palmer Cemetery. Interment will take place on November 16, 2024 promptly at 11:30am Palmer Cemetery. Please arrive a few minutes prior to the committal. In lieu of flowers, and in honoring Henry's generous nature, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Hearts for Haley at the Haley Morris Foundation or to Toy Drive for Kids in Need Organized by Sean McKenna
