James T. Burns

James Thomas Burns was born in Philadelphia a devoted son of the late James Lawrence Burns and Loretta Walker Burns. 

Jimmy was a very humble man with very basic needs, some of which were graduating from St. Anne's Elementary School and North Catholic High School many years ago. Some simple needs including his numerous hobbies. He loved reading, particularly the Bible and books about history. Jimmy also had a passion for music and playing his guitar. He loved classic movies in black and white. His favorite movies included the Pink Panther and Bruce Lee movies. Also, you could find him laughing enjoying his favorite comedy team The Three Stooges, at home in the living room. Collecting trains sets and assembling them also brought him joy. In addition, he was also a true animal lover and was always caring for his pets and the homeless in the area. He was a very peaceful and uncomplicated man who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life which made him very happy. He will truly be missed.  I'm sure Mom, Dad and Bob are truly happy to see you. Till we meet again.

A special thank you to my cousin, Ann Strahlendorf and her husband Harry and their children for the kindness they showed our brother, Jimmy, in a time of need. They showed him lots of love and compassion for which I will always be grateful. 

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 10 AM, in the HUBERT M. McBRIDE FUNERAL HOME, 2357 East Cumberland Street, Phila, PA.  His Funeral Service will begin at 11 AM, followed by interment at Greenmount Cemetery.
