James Crowley Obituary

James J. Crowley, age 75, passed away at home on March 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born in Philadelphia to the late William and Rita (nee O'Neil) Crowley.

A graduate of North Catholic High School, Class of 1969, James proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he dedicated himself to public service as a firefighter with the Philadelphia Fire Department. After retirement, he made his home in Wildwood, where he was well known as a bartender at several local establishments, enjoying the friendships and community he built there.

James is the beloved husband of Elaine (nee Brunkel). Devoted father of Jimmy Crowley (Sarah), Sean Crowley (Melissa), Brian Crowley, David Miller (Maryann), Kimberly Miller, and the late Sean Miller. Sadly missed by his 20 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Dear brother of William Crowley (Nancy) and Joseph Crowley (Jacquelyn). 

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation and funeral Wednesday April 1, 2026 beginning at 9am in Nativity BVM Church (upper) 2535 East Allegheny Avenue Philadelphia, PA 19134 followed by his funeral mass at 11am. Committal Services with Military Honors will take place at 1:30pm in Washington Crossing National Cemetery Newtown, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Guiding Star Ministries or Storm the Heavens Fund at the addresses listed below.
