James (Murph) Wilson passed away early Monday morning at the Delaware Valley Veterans home at the age of 92. Uncle Murph was the youngest of 10 kids and the son of Thomas and Mary Faunt Wilson. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was a proud graduate of North Catholic High School. When he finished high school, he went into the Navy where fought in the Korean war. When he came out of the service he worked for Super Saver until he retired from the Teamsters. Not ready to call it quits he went to work for PNC Bank in the operations department until he permanently retired.
Uncle Murph had two great loves, Loraine Murphy (Aunt Loraine) and his summers in Wildwood surrounded by his many close friends. Many of his days and nights were spent at Moore's, Elmira, Elks, and La Piazza where Uncle Murph was known to sing and dance the night away with his only partner Aunt Loraine. Then at the end of the night they would return to their penthouse above Charlie Quinn's at Glenwood and Hudson.
He will be sadly missed by 4 generations of nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral on Monday, February 26, 2024, beginning at 9:45 AM, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11 AM, in HOLY NAME OF JESUS CHURCH, Fishtown. Murph will be laid to rest with his beloved Lorraine , with Military Honors at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
