James W. Gifoli "Jerry" passed away on June 6, 2021 after courageously battling with his health for over a year. He is the beloved husband of Carol (nee Lynn). Devoted father of Michelle Henwood (Jimmy), Nancy Young, Daniel Radomski, Lisa McDonald, and the late Gina Gifoli and Thomas Radomski. Loving grandfather of Nicholas, Jordan, Breanna, Gabrielle, Tommy, Jennifer, Jessica, Jennifer, Allison, Danny, Andrew, Jordyn, Devon, and the late Madison. Dear brother of the late Linda. Sadly missed by his 11 great grandchildren and his extended family.
Jerry was born to the late Arthur and Theresa (nee Sibilla). He was raised in the Juniata section of Philadelphia and remained there throughout his life. He graduated from Frankford High School and worked for many years as a butcher for the Italian market. He later took over the family business Art's Market, which was started by his father and was a neighborhood landmark for over 60 years. Jerry was truly one of the good guys who always looked out for his family and friends and his neighborhood. He always made sure his customers got what they needed even if they needed credit until they could pay. When not working, he enjoyed going to the casino, traveling to Las Vegas, and going on cruises. He also religiously took off on Mondays to enjoy movie and dinner dates with his wife Carol. A True Philly guy, he loved the Eagles and a good pizza, especially from Charlie’s, Vince's or Santucci's. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him but they take comfort in knowing that he will be reunited in heaven with his loved ones who have gone before him.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral Friday June 11, 2021 beginning at 9:30am in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia PA 19125. Funeral service 11am. Interment Our Lady of Grace Cemetery (Langhorne).
