James “Jim” P. Dolan Sr.

James P. Dolan Sr. “Jim”, age 71, passed away at home on August 13, 2024. He was born on September 5, 1952 to the late John and Grace (nee Boyle) Dolan. 

Jim was a devoted family man who worked hard to provide for his family. He was employed for years at the US Mint, the Water Department, and then as a maintenance mechanic at the Philadelphia Airport, from which he retired. Jim enjoyed fishing, watching the Phillies, and playing the lottery. 

Jim was a big kid at heart. If there was a family gathering, you could always find him surrounded by the kids, playing games and tantalizing them. He loved his grandchildren and was an honorary grandfather to many of his nieces and nephews as he never treated them any different than his own. Jim will be greatly missed but his family takes comfort that he is being reunited with the love of his life Theresa.

Jim is the beloved husband of Theresa (VanLeer). Devoted father of Nancy Cullen (Edward), Nicole, and Jimmy. Loving Pop to Jonathon, Sierra, Alexis, Ryann, and Killian. Dear brother of Jack (Fran), Patsy Simmons (Owen), Mary Ellen Donohue (Mike), Michael, Patrick, and the late Daniel and Thomas. Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather and celebrate his life on Sunday September 8, 2024 beginning at 10am in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia, PA 19125 followed by his funeral service at 12pm.
