James "Jim" E. Weney
Obituary
James E. Weney "Jim" passed away at home on May 9, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 1,1945 to the late Charles and Elizabeth (nee Fields) and had just celebrated his 78th birthday.
Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. After his enlistment term, he entered the workforce, where he was employed by the same company for over 40 years. He had a great work ethic and always provided for his family, whom he loved very much. He was a devoted family man who would do anything for those he loved. Jim was also an avid Philadelphia sports fan and supported all of his hometown teams.
Jim is the beloved husband of Judith "Judy" (nee McCloskey). Devoted father of Jim (Dana), Denise Flynn, Lyn, Jeannie, and the late Sean (Shannon). Loving Pop-Pop to his grandchildren Bryant, John, Nikolas, Haili, Kyle, Jourdon, Ceara, Regan, Payton, Teaghan, Sean, and his great grandchildren Bailey, Connor, Logan, and Nova. Dear brother of John and the late Charles, Robert, Thomas, Betty Muldoon, William, and Carol McGovern. Sadly missed by his nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral Tuesday May 16, 2023 from 9-10am in St. Anne Church (lower) 2328 East Lehigh Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19125.Funeral Mass 10:30am in the upper church. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
