Janet M. (McDonaugh) McCarthy

Janet M. McCarthy (nee McDonaugh) passed away unexpectedly at home on October 17, 2021. She is the beloved wife of the late Patrick McCarthy. Cherished daughter of the late Edward and Dolores (nee Logue) Harley. Dear sister of John "Jack" McDonaugh (Barbara), Michael "Bug" McDonaugh (Carol), Joseph "Cookie" Harley (Patricia) and the late Karen Hodgkinson and Kathleen Smith. She is sadly missed by her nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved very much. Janet, or Ginger,  will always be remembered for her great sense of humor and her heart of gold. She always loved to dance to the oldies,  and have a great time with her family and friends.  Janet was also a  very generous person, who would go to the dollar store and buy water guns for the kids, and of course would have a water gun fight with them. She may not have had children of her own, but she was like a mother to all. As her family would say, she was their "spice in life". She will be missed terribly by all who knew and loved her but they take comfort that she was reunited with the love of her life, Pat, on his birthday. 

Relatives and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Janet's life on Monday October 25, 2021 beginning at 10:30am in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia PA 19125. Funeral service 11:30am.
